LASERTAG QUESTIONS

WHAT IS LASERTAG POWERED BY BEDLAM

Bedlam outdoor lasertag is a hi-tech action game where each player has a tagger which emits a harmless laser beam for aiming and an IR beam The point of the game is to try and score as many points as possible by tagging players in the opposing team, whilst not being tagged yourself. When players are tagged they loss lives. Once all their lives are loss the lase tagger deactivates until reset for the next game

IS LASERTAG SAFE

Absolutely! Is Bedlam has been built multiple gaming areas that provide a safe and fun experience. The equipment uses Infra-Red technology, which is a safe invisible light, and low power lazers. There are no projectiles like paintball to cause bruises. Our Game Referees monitor each mission to ensure all rules of engagement are followed.

WHAT SESSION ARE AVAILABLE?

A outdoor lasertag session is 2 hour.

A indoor session is an hour

A Lasertag session with unlimited ammo costs £299 for up to 8 players. Additional player cost £35pp

WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS TO PLAY LASERTAG BY BEDLAM ?

Participants aged 8 plus can play. Kids under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult (one adult can take responsibility for multiple kids).

DO YOU SUPERVISE THE PLAYERS

Each Lasertag session will be accompanied by a safety coordinator to ensure adequate supervision and safety.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS SUPPLIED

DO I NEED TO STAY ON SITE?

We ask that at least one adult stay with the party group at all times. Other adults are welcome to stay and watch the fun and even join in with the games!

WHAT TIME SHOULD MY GUESTS ARRIVE?

We ask that you and your guests arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled party time to allow time for check in.

WHAT DO THE KIDS WEAR

We recommend that players wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toed shoes. We recommend that kids not wear their favorite clothes as they may get a little dirty.

HOW DO I BOOK?

Check our venue locator to find your nearest venue. Then call our booking office on 08442473271

CAN I CHANGE THE DATE OR CANCEL THE EVENT

You can reschedule you game date but this must be done at least 48 hours before your game date. The a movement admin fee of £25 is charge .Cancellation If the event is canceled it will result in a loss of the monies.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I HAVE TAGGED ANOTHER PLAYER?

If you are close enough, you will be able to hear their tagger scream “Argh”. You will also see the sensors momentarily flash. Or you might see them trudging back to the ‘Dead Zone’ after your  hit has tagged them out!

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I HAVE BEEN TAGGED?

You will know you’ve been ‘shot’ – or tagged as we also call it – when your tagger screams “Argh” and the sensors around your neck and on the tagger flash. You will also lose one life (players are given multiple lives at the start of the game). If another player gets very close to tagging you, but is slightly inaccurate, your tagger will shout “warning” – this is your cue to run for it!

CAN MY TAGGER RUN OUT OF AMMO?

Yes. Just like the real thing, they hold a different amount of rounds (ammo), and every time you shoot this will decrease. Whenever you are getting low on ammo, you may push the reload button on your tagger to simulate the changing of the tagger’s clip (magazine). When you have used all of your ammo and clips you are unable to shoot any more, and become something of a ‘sitting duck’!

CAN I BE TAGGED WHILE I AM RELOADING?

Absolutely, so take care with choosing when to press the reload button! Depending upon the type of tagger you are using, reloading takes anywhere from 3-10 seconds.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?

Our taggers are water-resistant and as such laser tag can be played in most weather, including light rain, snow and windy conditions. If inclement weather is suspected, we advise players to bring waterproof and/or warm clothing as appropriate (plus a change of clothing), as games will generally continue as normal. However, like most electronic equipment it cannot easily be made totally waterproof, so if heavy rain is forecast and we don’t feel that we can safely run your booking, we will try to contact you in advance to let you know and to avoid you making a wasted journey (hence why we require a telephone number from you when you book). We will offer you the option either to move your booking to another time/date, or to receive a full refund of any money already paid to us. If there is heavy rain, thunder/lightning during your session then we will temporarily stop the game and take shelter until it passes.

CAN I SHOOT THROUGH TREES/VEHICLES/BARRIERS ETC?

Anything that blocks the line of sight will block the infrared beam of your tagger. With this in mind, you cannot shoot through tree trunks, vehicles (though you might be able to shoot through vehicle windows) or other solid objects. Leaves, on the other hand, only provide partial cover; the easier it is to see through the leaves, the easier it is to hit somebody hiding in them.

DOES IT HURT WHEN YOU GET TAGGED?

No, absolutely not. Our taggers do not fire actual lasers, but invisible infrared signals. The manufacturers of the infrared emitters used in the taggers state that in recent safety studies carried out in the USA, eye injuries were found to be impossible. Infrared waves from our emitters are low frequency, long wavelength and low energy.

DOES IT HURT ?

This is the number one question new players and parents ask. JT SplatMaster Ammo has been developed and designed to shoot straight, break on contact, and clean up easily with water. The way it’s been described by 9+ kids is that it has a minor sting, like that of a small, thin rubber band. In our video, Does SplatMaster Hurt?, we put this theory to the test by asking a ten year old how it feels after being hit by JT SplatMaster Ammo.

WHAT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAINTBALL AND SPLATMASTER

Think of it like “kid-friendly” paintball. Younger players 8 + will play a variety of different paintball style games, but with markers that shoot about half the speed of a regular paintball marker. These markers are spring-loaded and fire at a velocity of 150 FPS, which is about half the speed of a standard paintball marker. At this rate, you can see your ammo fly through the air before you get the satisfaction of seeing your splap We play outside in areas suited to your group and you will be kept away from normal paintball players

WHAT IS JT SPLATMASTER AMMO MADE OF?

JT SplatMaster Ammo is made of 100% bio-degradable, non toxic color filled gelatin capsules. JT SplatMaster strives to make a significant effort to reduce the impact on the environment. Through smart formulation, we use a large portion of recycled materials from other industries. Also, we manufacture JT SplatMaster Ammo using between 15% and 40% recycled and redirected materials that are considered waste, but environmentally friendly, that would otherwise be headed into the waste stream. SplatMaster Ammo is water soluble and easily cleans off most surfaces with just water.

IS JT SPLATMASTER LIKE PAINTBALL?

For those familiar with paintball, JT SpaltMaster does have some similar characteristics on the surface. But dig a little deeper and you’ll find that JT SplatMaster really is something totally new. First, JT SplatMasters are powered by spring pressure, not compressed air or CO2. This results in the Ammo only traveling between 110 and 140 feet per second versus 300 feet per second, the speed of a paintball. Second, JT SplatMaster Ammo is smaller in size than standard paintballs, and when you include that characteristic with the reduced speed the Ammo travels, it results in less energy – which means, less impact and considerably less “ouch”. Last, we have developed a special shell and fill that is designed to break on contact traveling at the low speeds of JT SplatMaster.

IS SPLATMASTER SAFE FOR ALL KIDS

Absolutely! All players will be equipped with protective eye goggles and a chest protector that are to be worn at ALL times. Also, players will have a thorough safety brief before being allowed to play. Always wear JT SplatMaster Optix or goggles specifically designed for paintball. Just like you would always wear a proper baseball helmet when hitting a baseball in practice or a game, it is critical for players and all those in the field of play to use proper JT SplatMaster eye protection. Also, the strap system is an important safety feature of JT SplatMaster Optix, and safety glasses can fall off or be dislodged during active play.

ARE THE GAMES SUPERVISED ?

Yes! Each private group will be accompanied by a safety coordinator to ensure adequate supervision and safety.

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED

Each player will receive a rental marker, ammunition, and a mask. Splatmaster private groups come with chest protectors at no charge.

Paintball has been a popular sport for a long time. Even though it is called an extreme sport, paintball is one activity that can be enjoyed with friends and family. This sport has a plethora of benefits that bring about an all-round development in players. Apart from the physical exercise, paintball also offers mental health benefits. Paintball’s popularity also lies in the simplicity of the game. All you need is the required protective gear and a paintball marker and you are ready to go.

Spicing up your exercise regime

Paintball is a great activity for those who do not have time to hit the gym or are simply lazy. Regular exercisers can also benefits from paintball as it adds variety to their workout routine. It is believed that following the same workout routine for a long time can become less effective over time. Paintball is a great way to shake things up and get an intense exercise routine. This sport does not include monotonous motions like a treadmill, and allows the players to experience a whole range of movements like running, climbing, ducking and tip toeing behind enemies.

Weight loss and immunity

Needless to say, paintball also aids in weight loss. The intense exercise gained from a session of paintball can improve sleep cycles and boost metabolism. Intense workouts also result in the release of endorphins that elevates the mood of the player. Apart from burning more calories, regular exercise through paintball also reduces risk of heart diseases, blood pressure and depression.

Stress relief

Working professionals have more and more to worry about in this fast paced world. Sometimes the stress can deeply affect the mental state of the person and resurface at inappropriate times. Playing a rough game of paintball is one of the best ways to vent out your frustration without risking hurting others. Sometimes, venting your anger in the game can also help you improve your skills as a paintballer. The endorphins released during intense exercise also eliminate mental stress brings a sense of calm.

Teamwork and leadership

Paintball is primarily a team sport with a goal. In order to win the game, one team should defeat other teams and fulfill the objective. This requires some amount of strategizing and execution which can be done only when all the players work together as a team. It is this aspect of paintballing that promotes team spirit. You could also use paintball to improve your leadership skills. Tense situations in the game often bring out the best in many players and boost their self confidence.

Absolute entertainment

Paintball is becoming increasingly popular not because it aids weight loss or improves team building skills, but simply because it is so entertaining. The rush of adrenaline gained from simply running around a field and shooting opponents with dye pellets makes stressed out adults feel like a child again. WHAT ARE ALL THE BENEFITS FOR A SCHOOL TO GO PAINTBALLING

Here are the Top 10 Health Benefits of Paintball:

  • Adds variety to regular routine: Paintball is a great activity for those who do not have time to hit the gym or want to do something active with friends. It’s also a great way to shake things up and get an intense exercise routine outside of your normal workout. If you’re looking for an alternative activity to escape the monotonous motions of a treadmill, paintball allows players to experience a full range of movements like running, climbing, ducking and tip-toeing behind enemies.
  • Full body workout: Paintball involves crawling, diving, sprinting, dodging and shooting. Because the game is so fast paced and strategic, many players get so caught up in the action they don’t even realize how the body is benefiting. People who have difficulty sticking to a workout routine often claim motivation and boredom as the primary reasons. Paintball offers participants a more enjoyable way to tone up their body without ever having to even think about it as exercise.
  • Increases endurance: When you play paintball you experience an incredible cardiovascular workout that boosts your endurance levels because of the extended amount of time spent on the field.
  • Increases strength: Paintball will require you to be fast while lugging around a paintball marker and with all the safety gear. The main areas strengthened during paintball are the legs from running and squatting, the arms from shooting, and the core for stabilization of the body with all the equipment.
  • Increases interpersonal skills and self-confidence: Paintball is primarily a team sport, which requires some amount of strategy and execution that can be done only when all the players work together as a team. It promotes team spirit and can also improve your leadership skills. Tense situations in the game often bring out the best in many players and boost their self confidence.
  • Good for weight loss and overall health: Needless to say, paintball also aids in weight loss. The intense exercise gained from a session of paintball can improve sleep cycles and boost metabolism. Intense workouts also result in the release of endorphins that elevate your mood. Apart from burning more calories, regular exercise through paintball also reduces risk of heart diseases, blood pressure and depression.
  • Major stress relief: Playing a rough game of paintball is one of the best ways to vent out your frustration without risking hurting others. Sometimes, venting your anger in the game can also help you improve your skills as a paintballer. The endorphins released during intense exercise also eliminate mental stress and bring a sense of calm.
  • Promotes teamwork: Good teamwork is essential in paintball – your team must work together to make strategies and plans, and then be able to coordinate them. If you’re lacking a bit of teamwork in your office, why not arrange a day out with your colleagues and put yourselves to the test?
  • It’s healthy to be outdoors: Working out outdoors actually boosts your mood, outlook, focus and immunity. According to a study from the University of Michigan, group nature walks are linked to enhanced mental health and positivity, as well as significantly lower levels of depression and feelings of stress. A study from Glasgow University showed that people who walked, biked, or ran in nature had a lower risk of poor mental health than people who worked out indoors.
  • It’s fun!: Finally, who can say that having a bit of fun isn’t one of the major health benefits of paintball? The rush of adrenaline sparked by just running around and shooting opponents with pellets of dye brings back the inner child in us. Full of laughter and excitement, paintball makes a truly brilliant day out with friends

No, players who fail to attend on the day will lose their paintballs and these paintballs are non-transferable. Players that fail to attend on the day will also lose their pre-payment and are no longer entitled to their  paintballs.

WHAT CLOTHING SHOULD I WEAR

We suggest you wear a couple of layers on your top-half, depending on how cold it is. This will allow you to take a layer off if you get warmed up – and trust us you will.
